I believe you're projecting. Gree...@Coventrian

I believe you're projecting. Greenwald is the one who specializes in "tedious and pointless detail." Except his "tedious and pointless detail," often focuses on why he -- and he alone -- is correct. He leaves out anything that might contradict him. As in when he took to Twitter and flat-out lied about Ecuador offering Assange residency. It was an offhand remark by a Deputy Foreign Minister, one that was quickly repudiated by Correa. But that didn't matter to Glenn. He ran with it, even though he completely mislead his followers into believing that Ecuador had offered Assange residency when the opposite was true.

Could offer example after example of this type of behavior, but it doesn't sound like it would matter to you.

And this doesn't even take into account the delight Glenn seems to take in utterly degrading those with whom he disagrees. As in...

http://bit.ly/HEG6DY

I guess if you find his bile appealing, he's your guy. But enough people have become so utterly tired of his deranged attacks that they tune him out. He's as phony as they come.RobHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15532708216500001400noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3138728502354978457.post-56438864825990541482012-06-28T16:17:34.177+02:002012-06-28T16:17:34.177+02:00I am a criminal lawyer. I have not been to Sweden, but I have been reading and researching Swedish law very closely of late and would like to make the following observations if - may

1 - This issue of bail I think, is misuderstood. My understanding is that Sweden does not have a bail system, because it does not detain unless one is a flight risk! This is a far fairer system than US or most jurisdictions who often have bail anmouts that are out of reach. Also, IN PRACTICE: it is allmost impossible to get bail if one is a foreigner IN ANY JURISDICTION in the world.

2 - Jury trials are not fairer trials, that assetion is nonsense. Swedens panels of judges are renowned for their fairness and impartiality.

3 - The treaty governing extradition between US and Sweden forbids extradition on basis of political actions.

4 - Mr Assange on his last interview with Chomskey, called his followers "radicalised internet youth' He is right, most are between 17 and 24 which may well explain the agression and lack of coherence of argument as well as abysmal lack of ideological clarity! Kids !!!

5 -For what it's worth, my professional legal opinion is that I would rather stand trial in Sweden than almost any country on earth.

PS great post though !!Mehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00699542765767822332noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3138728502354978457.post-27590778291142946302012-06-28T14:42:50.133+02:002012-06-28T14:42:50.133+02:00I see you find Sweden's illegal rendition poli...I see you find Sweden's illegal rendition policy something you'd prefer not to discuss.

its clear you welcome only positive comments.

Coward as well as a liar.Coventrianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01181779507292579211noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3138728502354978457.post-12936270446724548872012-06-28T14:25:39.855+02:002012-06-28T14:25:39.855+02:00You are obviously leaping to Sweden's defence ...You are obviously leaping to Sweden's defence and you live there.

However despite all the media muddling, has it not occurred to you that if you were a determined Swedish prosecutor you would have "nailed it" while Mr Assange was on Swedish Territory?

Would that not have been in the best interests of the girls?

Of course you would know that it would be much more difficult if Mr Assange was overseas, wouldn't you?

You would also readily and speedily send Swedish police to the UK in order to investigate/question/interview for such a serious and heinous crime, wouldn't you?

Obviously police forces do this all the time and it would have been in the girls best interests, wouldn't it?

It would have avoided a two year lawyer/media feeding frenzy which would surely be against the girls best interests?

It would also, no doubt, have saved the Swedish State a lot of money, too, wouldn't it?

So the burning question is, why didn't they?jj22https://www.blogger.com/profile/14286209609841712242noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3138728502354978457.post-31452339041104469922012-06-28T12:33:07.507+02:002012-06-28T12:33:07.507+02:00'Your final cited document involves a renditio...'Your final cited document involves a rendition case from 2001.
